Plan a showroom session↗

A working guide

Bring the room into the conversation.

The most useful flooring conversations connect the visual direction to room conditions, installation details, budget, timing, and the rest of the material palette.

Prepare for a showroom session

Bring plans, room photos, cabinetry, stone, textiles, paint, and lighting references. Note the project timeline and any decisions that are already fixed.

Measure the floor area

Sketch each room as simple rectangles, record length and width, and note closets, halls, stairs, transitions, and fixed cabinetry. A field-verified installer measurement should confirm the final order.

Compare samples well

View several boards together, look at them flat rather than vertically, and move them between daylight and the room's evening light before finalizing color.

Plan the complete specification

Account for construction, grade, plank dimensions, finish, installation method, transitions, stair parts, vents, trim, waste, care, and lead time.

About measurements

Use rough dimensions for discovery. Verify before ordering.

Early measurements help estimate scale and narrow product options. Final quantities, waste factors, subfloor conditions, layout, and installation requirements should be confirmed by the project's qualified installer before materials are purchased.
